Learning Outcome 2:
Implement appropriate working methods for building an independent and effective self-organisation that enables the critical engagement with practice-based research.
(Assessment Criteria: Process)
As a working method, I use research by looking at various artists, making gallery visits, and practicing research and experimentation.
Experimentation and snowball effect in developing works
St Ives Tate visit
It helped me develop ideas and create a better understanding of myself, especially the work made by Jesus Rafaelo Soto, Horizontal Movement. The mix of light, movement, and human experience in Soto’s art explores a dynamic engagement with the viewer
This visit and the fact that my photo camera lens autofocus was not working correctly made me approach my work from a different angle making these type of imagery, which reminded me of the work of Idris Khan
Then I went around and made a series of images of the rooftops
Walking around the Thames on a low tide, I photographed the waterman stairs from a different perspective this time
I also photographed them at night on very long exposure.
Printed the work on A3 glossy paper and then painted over the prints. I am planning to engage in this type of work in the future.
Using visual research and experimentation to develope visual language and critical approach to making new work
Sayuri Ichida and Jan Svoboda's research. I like the minimalistic approach.
I also like the work made by Rut Luxemburg. Very isnspiring
I love John Blackemore work; his long exposure technique are fascinating
The artists above influenced the way I see and connect with the surroundings when I make photos. I am constantly seeking to understand and develop better ways of visual expression, so I like using my phone to take photos if I see something visually stimulating.
This should also show a different method or approach to doing work by being influenced by an artistic or specific work that resonates with me and then mixing and blend, reflecting and making.
Experimentations or positive failures
Experimenting screen printing
Test printing work and playing with sequencing
Ink water, flow movement -extermination with ink
Polaroid emulsion lift -polaroids made on the river Thames
Rayographs on the river Thames
Washing machine or camera obscura idea
Playing with seqeuncincess
A sequence I made after a visit to Romania.
Colne Valley walk and sequencing
Debating light and darkness and
Gallery visits
Learning Outcome 3:
Communicate a critical understanding of your developing practice.
(Assessment Criteria: Knowledge, Communication)
In the study statement I refect on my approach to my developing practice
Reflections
Flow and energy reflections

Early reflection on approach to my practice
