This series of images focuses on the idea of continuous landscape changes by the erosion of the waves crashing on to the Cornish cliffs through a magical performance, visually and auditive. I tried to depict this ritual by creating surreal collages by stacking several identical images made while being enchanted by the scenic soundscapes.

This is the first time I used a this way of retouching or manipulating images. Perhaps a response to my mind thinking of the collage workshop I have to run soon at work, where I have to teach our students different digital technical methods of collating.

I posted this image on the studio wall, asking my peers for feedback, and thoughts

Harry mentioned the concept of synesthesia and the Bauhaus school and also that the sound of the waves might be complementary. I left my sound recorder at home, but perhaps next time I visit Cornuwal I might capture sound as well.

Madeleina mentioned nostalgia and a "dream-like sense of tranquillity."

Thinking of my Thames project and the image of the rooftops from St Ives. It could be interesting to explore creating a series of images of London's rooftops. The multi-layering of the rooftops and the images of the water splashing on the stairs could work together?

It made me think of the idea of permanence rooftops represent sheltering, and boundaries and are there to last. In contrast the motion of water have the meaning of changes and impermanence, reflection, purification, and freedom.

Googling the terms I came across of :" Impermanence, called anicca (Pāli) or anitya (Sanskrit)" and " 'nicca' is the concept of continuity and permanence" source
