Playing in the studio

This weekend I had the first test well my daughter helped

I read several articles/blogs/forum posts about how to just the pressure on the press

I think I got it ok

The press works ok!

Happy day!

The space is tight but if I keep tidy and take it slow it work.

I than tried a larger print

After the two days of failure at CSM…

Not to bad

I than thought why not try and play

So I inked the plate runed it and prepared a drypoint plastic that I had cut the same size as the zinc plate.

I rolled some popy red on it

Than dropped some white spirit

And some wd40

And some water

Wiped it of

Placed it on the press

Run the press

These are the results

It works but it needs something more, I don’t know yet what

Than I saw this newspaper dropped on the floor. I used to wipe the excess from the monoprint and as I was cleaning up I placed it over the ink on the table. I thought I need to see this! Looked at it. Liked it! Placed again and and again and again and again over the black ink.

Make me think of aggression, visceral, violence, erasure, decay, abrasion, resistance.

I think it is the best work I made this week!
