I had the privilege of being commissioned to document the art installations at the Pizhangelr Manor and Gallery a couple of weeks ago, titled Antoni Malinowsk
i and Helene Binet: Pigments and Photons.
Pitzhanger Manor, located in Ealing, London, was the country home of Sir John Soane, one of Britain’s most influential architects and serves as a forum for creativity, debate, and participation, reanimating Sir John Soane’s vision to inspire and enrich the community through art, architecture, and design.
I visisted Helene Binet webisted and this work is my favourite
For me the play of light , shadow, texture, shape using the square format higlights from a ambiguous perspective the quality of the building making a statemnt of permamace.
Antoni Malinowski website
I found this article on his webiste were Antoni debates that color is essential to our sensory experience and how we perceive architectural spaces.
There is still much to be learned about the role of colour in architecture - and more
schools should focus on it
He is statinhg that our sense of color is a vital part of our sensory experience and perception of the world. Coloris as important as tactile perception. At the AA School of Architecture, he created a course called Materiality of Colour to explore color interactions, following Josef Albers' work and expanding into 3D. Antoni highlights the need for more structured color education in architectural schools. (Antoni Malinowski 2024)
