I was invited to show some of my work at the London Festival of Architecture in June 2025. Of course I'm delighted.
The work I selected is quite depressing, it kinda of represents how I feel now.
I made this work over the last few years looking at decay, non places, the "forgotten and unseen" as Walter Benjamin regarded the work of Atget. Atget work was pioneering at the time, mine is not at all. I also used a more slow process as the images produced are made using a technical camera with a digital back which scans the projection of the lens and than I use post processing to stitch them together into a panoramic look.
It takes time to make these images. I need to imagine firsthand how the image would look. Setting up the tripod after deciding of the image I want to make. Making adjustments if what I imagined work is not what I'm getting on my camera. Changing angles. Moving the tripod elsewhere and reframing.
I love the process, mainly because is slow. It allows me to think about what I make. It allows me to reflect and understand what is that I'm doing.
Anyway, my work will be showing at the London Festival of Architecture as part of a group show and that makes me happy.
