'I do not see my photographs as concerned with place in a geographic, a topographic sense. What I seek to evoke is the dynamic of the landscape, its physical energy, its fundamental mystery.'
I have similar interest when it come to my work, I was trying to find the connection with Thames , being born and raised in Romania. But I don't need to, as connections do not necessarily need to be placed geographically.
John Blakemore spent 5 years photographing the stream in Derbyshire, developing techniques that were later applied in his later work.
The technique used in these is interesting. I know he was using multiple-long exposures on the same sheet of the film; I did try that myself in the past, but never on a digital. I will have to find a way to play with this technical concept, as I would like the effect on my work on the Thames.
I plan to go out again this weekend and try to adopt new strategies
