The interim show was a great opportunity to explore the CSM campus and, most importantly, to meet my peers in person. However, we had no say in hanging and curating the work, leaving us without any agency in the process. While the show was well-curated, I believe we missed out on benefiting from learning from curators. I also think it would have been valuable to have a mock-up session beforehand to brainstorm how to make the most of the space. In hindsight, I should have visited the campus and engaged with the community to understand the environment and the space better. I lacked proper planning ahead of time.
My display consisted of two prints, each 120x100cm, pinned to the wall. One was hung very low, at the floor base and the other very high, at the top of the wall, which work well. The top print was not very visible, so I should have printed them larger, at least twice the size. In terms of the work shown, I played it safe by exhibiting images that received positive feedback in the past. I wish I had taken a greater risk and used the opportunity to experiment with different ways of showing the work, such as printing on different mediums or showcasing other of my work, such as the Polaroid lifts.
