I created this painting over my photographs, which were taken at the River Thames, depicting the Waterman Stairs around Wapping. The initial image was a blend of multiple images, resembling a multiple exposure effect. It featured the embankment wall, the stairs, and the beach created by the low tide. I followed the edges of each area and then used a brush to paint over it with acrylic paints. This process resulted in non-defined shapes or objects of bold and dark colours. The emphasis was on conveying emotions and moods rather than any defined forms

Catherine suggested that I should look into the work made by Howard Hodgkin as my work looks. I felt flattered by the fact that Catherine was seeing my work similar to Howard Hodgkin's.
