The day stared with Rosie Sherwood lecture about books and a a small display of various books she brought which I found very inspiring. I liked the concertina types books. It is something about them, they ask for more engagement. I also liked "Follow the lade" a book made of lose prints in a box. The artist is inviting the viewer to "piecing the cards together or by shuffling".

We then visited the Book Art Book Shop near Old Street. A little gem. How didn't I knew about its existence until now? So many interesting books. The one I liked the most was by Tomasz Laczny, Erna Helena, Ania which had a variety of different types of foldings. I regret not buying a copy.

The workshop in the afternoon was about different types of foldings such as concertina, trousers book, origami book, and also pamflet binding.

Artist books is an art form it self that embraces a wide range of techniques and concepts, offering the possibility of a dynamic, multi-sensory experience. Through materials, interactive or audience participation, connectivity, surprise, sensory engagement trough visual story telling, context sequencing  books invite deeper engagement creating an virtual one to one connection between the viewer with the creator/artist. The artist is inviting the viewer into a conversation trough the medium. The viewer can ask different questions by engaging with the book, moving from page to page, forward or backwards, having somehow agency.
